All Kaleidoscope tools
For the products supplied by our other partners, we negotiate direct support and maintenance contracts with the manufacturers on your behalf. In this case, support queries will be resolved directly with the manufacturer, but we remain your first point of contact for sales-related questions and customer service! We have support contracts of our own with the manufacturers (SDL) so we can immediately access their expertise to resolve third-level support issues. This gives our customers the best possible combination of competence, individualized support, and personal service.
For each support and maintenance contract you take out with us for an SDL product, we conclude a maintenance agreement plus third-level support contract with SDL to cover maintenance of your product, bug fixes and any complex issues. For products from our partners SCHEMA and Acrolinx you take out the support and maintenance contract directly with Kaleidoscope, while any technical support issues are handled directly through the manufacturer’s hotline. We remain your first point of contact for sales-related questions and customer service!
Corporate customers
We offer corporate customers a combined support and maintenance plan for the above-mentioned products. For very small installations we also offer a straightforward “pay-per-incident” support plan or a support scorecard.
Freelancers and agencies
We offer freelancers and agencies a pay-per-incident plan, a support scorecard plus targeted service packages for installation, upgrades, and “cleaning up” of existing installations.
Support portal
Your ticket to first-class support
All inquiries are handled through the Kaleidoscope support portal. This approach has many benefits:
- Improved communication and rapid resolution of problems through transparent tracking of inquiries.
- The ability to review and check the status of all inquiries.
- Fair and efficient handling of inquiries in chronological order and according to priority.
Support tool
For individualized support directly at your PC
Sometimes the best way to resolve problems quickly is to get a direct “view” of your PC. We have a number of remote access options for this eventuality to save your IT department the hassle of setting up remote access. We work with FastViewer, TeamViewer and gotoMeeting. We advise that corporate customers check with their internal IT department whether the firewall is set up to allow any of these programs. These tools let us connect directly to your computer. The user is required to start a “customer module” and then enter a unique session number. They will get this at the start of each session. In other words, the tool does not allow us to have unlimited remote access. Instead, we are granted on-demand access only when both sides agree.
Defining Terminology
quickTerm makes it easy to define terminology. And not just for terminologists, but for all users too. Defining terminology is a dynamic process, which can only be truly mastered with a workflow that has an easy and efficient way for term requests to be placed and discussed, and for translations to be approved. Of course the person who has the final say is also defined.
Approving Terminology
With quickTerm you can roll out the validation and approval of terminology to your entire company. You define groups and how much of a majority is required per group for approval to be granted. A communication and notification platform helps approvers express their opinion promptly and precisely, while resubmission and other functions make sure your terminology always stays up to date.
Searching for Terminology
What use is the best, most up-to-date terminology, if no one can find it? Terminology searches require clever access points, smart search features, and an intuitive presentation of terminology. However, it is just as vital to constantly make the benefits of terminology management crystal clear to all users. quickTerm makes it easy for anyone to find the right term for the right concept.
Translation Memory
We translate your content using translation memory technology from SDL Trados, an esteemed computer-assisted translation (CAT) tool that is regularly used by many of our customers. SDL Trados brings speed and predictability to the translation process while helping ensure consistency of language. Best of all, major cost savings can be made by reusing previously translated material.
Managing Terminology
Uniform usage of technical and business-specific terminology is an important factor in establishing a professional corporate image. Although creating and maintaining a terminology database is a complex task, it pays enormous dividends over the long term by improving both source-language and translated materials. Terminology management helps you keep track of your terms!
Process Integration
We can no longer view translation processes in isolation. They have become part of complex, company-wide workflows and are often embedded in related software environments, such as content management, document management, and ERP systems. We work together with your IT department to develop solutions that seamlessly integrate your systems with our translation environments.
QA and Approval Processes
Obtaining translation approvals and communicating between translators, LSPs, subject matter experts, and reviewers used to be a labor-intensive, time-consuming, and error-prone process. We set out to change this with globalReview, developed by our parent company, Kaleidoscope. This innovative, web-based platform signals a new collaborative era in strategic quality management.
transCreate with Ease Online
Our innovative web portal, transCreate, has been specially designed for the challenges of transcreation. Perfectly tailored to the layout-based collaboration needed to coordinate translation content, transCreate enables translators, project managers, reviewers, and clients to work together seamlessly so that everyone can focus on the actual transcreation task at hand.
Check for the right word
Terminology is only useful if you can make sure it is actually being used. For this purpose, checkTerm checks terminology in your texts – via the clipboard, in your intranet, through plug-ins e.g. in MS Word, or directly in SDL Trados Studio. Its morphological engine correctly identifies declination, composites etc. and accurately pinpoints rejected or missing terms as well as variants.
Delivering MultiTerm
Delivering MultiTerm converts server-based termbases into a local termbase, which can be added to a SDL Trados Studio project. You can take this termbase offline and send it to the translator. Delivering MultiTerm optionally scans the source documents for terms and then adds only the relevant ones to the project-specific local termbase. Filtering is also available.
Structured Information
Individual information modules that are as easy as possible to manage form the basis of modern editing. These modules need to be easy to find, capable of being combined dynamically, and made “intelligent” using metadata. Separating layout, structure, and content simplifies matters by a large degree and increases efficiency. However, this requires precise planning and consistent implementation.
Translating with eurocom…
… provides peace of mind: High-quality translations delivered to deadline for many global market leaders. As a technical and marketing specialist we combine 25 years’ worth of expertise in translation with technology developed by the Kaleidoscope Group and a global network of translators. This makes us the market-leading and most innovative translation agency in Austria.
SDL: Market-leading Software
With its products Trados Studio, GroupShare, WorldServer, Passolo, and MultiTerm, SDL is the global market leader in translation software. Its range of software helps you translate faster and more efficiently, while reducing costs and the time required for translation and review by up to 40 percent. We are happy to advise you on how you can make the best possible use of these products.
Editing with SCHEMA ST4
SCHEMA has been setting standards in editing systems for over 20 years. Their ST4 DocuManager meets the needs of small and medium-sized businesses and is based on SCHEMA ST4, the market-leading professional and scalable editing system in German-speaking countries. The SCHEMA product range covers all eventualities in day-to-day editing and content management work for companies of all sizes.
SDL Trados Studio
You can save 30 to 60 percent in time and costs, depending on the text type, by using the world’s leading translation software, SDL Trados, in the translation process. Translators edit, review, and manage translation projects and terminology entirely in SDL Trados Studio. Most training centers provide training in the software and the majority of professional translators are proficient users.
Single Source Publishing
The fundamental difference between working with and without an editing system is the principle of single source publishing. This method breaks documents and publications down into information modules, which may then be used time and again in different locations, but are only ever managed centrally. Prolific copying and pasting is replaced by a neatly structured data base.
SDL GroupShare
SDL GroupShare is the common working platform for localization teams of any size, who use SDL Trados Studio and SDL MultiTerm. Teams can collaborate on translation memories, project management, and terminology, allowing them to achieve significantly more efficient translation workflows. Assigning and archiving functions allow for even greater automation possibilities.
SCHEMA ST4 DocuManager
SCHEMA ST4 DocuManager sets new standards, and is yet a standard system with technical support and upgradeability. SCHEMA consistently “standardizes” recurring requirements from numerous projects. “DocuManager” is a standard configuration of the powerful ST4 system; a turnkey solution for simple projects and the perfect basis for complex enhancements.
SDL WorldServer
The SDL WorldServer workflow automation solution gives you the tools you need to bring together all of your company’s translation processes in one uniform, traceable, and managed system that avoids manual or redundant steps and drastically reduces transactional cost. You benefit from clearly defined and largely automated management of even the largest projects for the entire company.
Sustainable Processes
Concentrate on your core skills and we will take care of your translations! We combine our decades of experience in processes, best practice, and technology with personalized and pro-active customer service and a dose of Austrian charme. Working with you, we strive to constantly optimize all your processes over the long term and effectively increase ROI potential both on our side and on yours.
The Advantages at a Glance
Technical content management systems should not simply be regarded as new software; they also enable you to reassess processes, writing methods, and documentation structures. While they are relatively quick and easy to introduce, a major benefit lies in how they will modernize your entire workflow. Here we have compiled some of the key benefits to justify your investment.
Terminology for Everyone!
You want to roll out terminology to everyone in your company? As quickly and easily as possible? With workflow and life cycle management, version control, and many other useful functions? With Web 2.0 capabilities, making terminology even more fun and interesting? With concept maps, visualizing correlations between entries in the termbase graphically? We produly present quickTerm!
Localizing with SDL Passolo
Localizing software is a complex task involving developers, product managers, and translators. SDL Passolo makes the process quicker and easier for all parties: For translators it displays dialogs and menus on the screen for context. And for the development team it runs QA-checks and even compiles final target-files. What’s more, SDL Passolo is linked to SDL Trados and SDL MultiTerm.
Dynamic Publishing
Separating content, structure, and layout in a CMS is the key to first-class dynamic publishing: Create different layouts from or customer-specific versions from the same source – cleverly controlled by metadata, with documents automatically produced from the data available in the ERP system. With all this and much more besides, the possibilities of SCHEMA ST4 are endless!
SDL MultiTerm: “The” Database
SDL MultiTerm’s highly customizable database structure can be adapted precisely to your requirements. In fact, SDL MultiTerm is the only commercially available tool that can handle the demands of professional terminology management. MultiTerm’s tight integration into the SDL translation environment automatically provides the translator with the necessary terminology.
Interactive Information
The trend towards electronic media could not be stronger, with benefits such as faster updates, interactive presentations, and context-sensitive help being harnessed for applications such as website assembly and catalog production. SCHEMA ST4 offers an extensive range of publication options for both print but also electronic media, separating content from structure and layout.
Queries Have Potential
Queries come up in almost every translation project. Unfortunately, they are often considered a nuisance. Instead these queries present enormous potential for you to enhance quality and lower costs. As the majority of queries relate to terminology, it is important to adopt a holistic, collaborative approach in this area so that this potential can be fully exploited.
For Queries: smartQuery
Do you want to organize translators’ queries once and for all – in a comprehensible and traceable way? Without relying on any Excel lists or other makeshift documents (which are never used by everyone involved for whatever reason)? Do you also want to improve the quality of the translations and source texts at the same time? Then we have the solution you have been looking for!
Content Delivery
Your colleagues, partners, and customers need the latest information at their fingertips. How do you manage that in times of increasingly faster product cycles? How do you ensure these documents can only be used with proper authorization? SCHEMA´s Content Delivery Suite (CDS) intelligently supplies the different target systems – online and offline – via browser, tablet, or smartphone.
Global Quality Management
You want a seamless in-country review process for translators, project managers, reviewers, and experts? You want reviewers and experts to be involved without the need for specialist software skills and training? And with every review step documented automatically? Directly in the InDesign layout, too? And how about using the review for quality management? Take a look at globalReview!
Technical Translations
We have years of experience in technical translations. And we know time-to-market is a major factor in the financial success of technological innovations. Bringing products to market often requires flawless translations for multiple countries and languages to be provided simultaneously. Yet, despite this time pressure, accuracy and reliability are paramount.
Tailored Global Projects
Your dedicated eurocom project manager will take care of all aspects of your request, from selecting the translation team and preparing the data right through to the final checks. They are responsible for bringing all ends together. With the help of a specially developed process management system, the workflow is extremely transparent and traceable, as well as certified to ISO 17100.
Terminology Marketing
One of the key success factors of all successful terminology projects is the constant self-marketing by the terminology team in their company. They need to keep bringing attention to the termbase, especially if the terminology process is to be collaborative. Motivate the user “crowd” to stay engaged with extra offers and additional benefits such as term quizzes or terms of the week.
Fun with terminology
If you want your users to actually engage with your terminology, it must be presented in a pragmatic, fast and easy to understand way. It is also essential to create clever search features, with an intuitive display of results. And the right features for everyone, depending on the way they work and their preferences. You can even add enriched content with terms of the week or term quizzes
Small but Mighty!
Do you want to speed up working in SDL Trados Studio and SDL MultiTerm even further and customize it even more precisely to your needs? Then you should take a closer look at our little digital helpers: expertTools enable elegant processes and solutions that would otherwise be highly complex and time-consuming. Many of our expertTools are available both as a freelance and as a professional version.
Connecting Content
Connecting Content is the ideal solution for connecting a content management, catalog, or technical editing system to an SDL Trados-based translation workflow. Connecting Content also works smoothly with a variety of other workflow systems and is a logical solution for automating time-consuming processes in this field. Once set up, it runs automatically on a server, automating your projects.
Terminology & Services
Establishing a termbase that will be used throughout your company is more complex than collecting and entering technical terminology. A properly implemented termbase will reflect how you anticipate using the data. Who at your company will develop or approve terminology, and who will use it? Our specialists will analyze and advise based on your exact needs, before delivering the perfect solution.
Global Advertising
Translating advertising copy and marketing texts requires a high level of instinct. In addition to producing a translation that is accurate and complete, the translator must employ the proper writing style and structure in order to strike the right tone with the reader. Providing information about the target group and purpose of the text helps the translator ensure the translation fulfills its purpose.
Agile Translation Subscription
The digital business world is becoming increasingly fast-paced and is bringing new challenges in the form of social media translations and agile software localization. As our customer, you benefit from our state-of-the-art technology and decades of experience. We develop concepts for you such as translating small regular jobs via a “web subscription” or collaboration on agile projects.
Excelling MultiTerm
Excelling MultiTerm is a tool that lets you precisely select data from SDL MultiTerm and export that data into an Excel file. Once in Excel, you can then edit, translate, or review your terminology. You then use the Excel file itself to update the data in MultiTerm. Excelling MultiTerm also contains a number of features which professional users of MultiTerm need for keeping termbases “clean”.
Social Media @ Terminology
Social media teaches us how people can be motivated to actively and voluntarily participate and work towards a common goal. quickTerm’s “social web” functions put this insight into practice purposefully and effectively, supporting your terminology work. Features like term quizzes or terms of the week attract attention! You will be amazed how passionate your colleagues will become about terminology!
Corporate Language ROI
Terminology is one of the prerequisites for precise and consistent communication about your brands, messages, product features, and functions. The company will benefit from this both in the short and long term; consistent source texts are vital for the automation of your translations and thus cost savings. More information on the question of ROI is just a click away:
Your Website in Every Language
Modern global corporations are expected to have flawlessly translated websites in several languages. With the marketplace becoming more international than ever before, there are enormous opportunities that you can fully exploit with our range of services. A smooth data exchange between content management and translation systems is critical to a perfect website translation.
Publishing MultiTerm
Use Publishing MultiTerm to select specific content from SDL MultiTerm and export it. Then run any number of transformations on the output, and convert the final data to formats like PDF or XML. The tool is ideal if you want to create a glossary suitable for printing or if you want to export your data for use in other systems. Once set up, the publishing process runs automatically on a server.
Translate Excel Files with Ease
Excelling Studio makes working with Microsoft Excel files much easier. These files are often a stumbling block, especially when processed in translation tools. Excelling Studio from Kaleidoscope organizes your Excel files and prepares them for translation in SDL Trados Studio. The tool reads data from the columns and rows of excel files and converts them to a special XML format.
COTI – Standard for Automation
Connecting Content
Machine-based translation
Unlike translation memory (assisting human translators by storing and re-using translations), machine-based translations are prepared completely by a computer. As a result, they provide unprecedented speed. Unpolished wording and grammatical blunders are the downsides. Machine translation is therefore an alternative to “no translation” or as additional input for CAT tools.
Software Localization
Dialos, messages, menus, and buttons are examples of software-related snippets that express information in a highly compacted form and therefore require a very integrated translation process. Localization projects involve the translation of software into a new target language as well as adaptation to a different culture. They place very high demands on translation and project management.
goAnalyze Studio Files
goAnalyze is an add-on for SDL Trados that can analyze multiple or even zipped files, without even having to open Studio or create a project. Using goAnalyze, any number of different TM connections can be grouped under “Customer” and prices assigned to the corresponding match bands. Not only is this a bonus for freelancers and agencies, but also for in-house translation departments.
We Speak Your Languages
A website in 14 languages reaches 90% of the online business world! We translate all major world languages, employing native speakers in the country where the target language is spoken. In-country translators have more research opportunities open to them and remain in touch with the latest linguistic trends. They are also ideally positioned to work with your subsidiaries for quality management.
Synching Language
Synching Language is a fully automated tool for keeping several translation memories and termbases synchronized between multiple SDL servers and/or clients. This solution maintains “snapshots” of all databases and compares all the images with one another during each synchronization process. As a result, synchronization can be performed reliably in both directions.
Translation and Creation…
…becomes transcreation, provided you have the right partner. It is usually marketing departments who request transcreation in order to implement their marketing campaigns consistently in all the target countries, yet also to ensure they are perfectly tailored to the local culture and the respective target group. The translation is merely the starting point for transcreation, or in other words, the briefing.
From Terms to Termbase
Using consistent internal terminology is an essential requirement for achieving linguistic precision in a variety of areas, such as documentation, marketing, and IT. Ultimately, this precision is carried forward into translated material. For product liability regulations and other legal requirements, such as safety notices, uniform application of the language is especially important.
Information Security
Information security is an essential requirement in times of digital industrial espionage. We are conscious of the considerable responsibility and trust customers place in us when translating their highly sensitive data. For this reason we adhere to the stringent standards of the VDA (German Association of the Automotive Industry) and are an approved supplier for Volkswagen AG.
Making approval processes easier
Often it is important for international corporations to have key stakeholders review and approve translations. For example, national subsidiaries or sales partners often read through the final version of a translation without referencing the original source text. This can be a very time-consuming process involving multiple technical departments and reviewers. globalReview speed up this process.
Your TTX is too large?
Then Splitting TTX is the Answer! Splitting TTX is an extremely efficient tool for splitting large TTX files into several smaller TTX files. After the translation is complete, the individual files are merged back together into one complete TTX file. This is particularly useful when TTX files are too large to handle efficiently or when several translators will work on one source file at the same time.
Communication is Key
Our project managers ensure our translators have all the information they need to produce the best quality product, whilst understanding and implementing your individual requirements. The project manager will consult with you and inform the translator accordingly. Query management at eurocom is centralised and web-based – saving time and money while improving quality.
Audio and Video Goes Global
To make sure your promotional films, training videos, or conference recordings retain the power of your message even in the target country, we work with experienced specialist translators, professional recording studios, and voice-over specialists. We will handle your voice-over, dubbing, subtitling, and transcription projects – and much more besides – in our usual professional manner.
Jewels in the Treasure Chest
In our treasure chest we collect small and useful tools that we have developed for specific needs and which may be interesting for other customers as well. Take a look for yourself; perhaps you will also find a jewel such as secureSDLXLIFF that will transform your current processes! Got a great idea for a new tool? Let us know!
Translation and Layout
Our portfolio of services also includes the steps that follow translation, up to print-ready layout. While many other providers are only able to handle simple text files, we have the technical capabilities to translate files that were created in desktop publishing formats (e.g. InDesign, QuarkXPress, FrameMaker). They are then imported back into the original layout using an automated process.
Consultancy & Workshops
While you can simply download and try out some of our products for yourself, larger-scale solutions such as SCHEMA DocuManager or SDL WorldServer have extensive configuration options. To enable us to tailor these systems to your individual requirements, we can offer you specialist guidance and workshops. This will give you a clear picture of the desired and perfect solution for you.
Rely On Our Support
Do you want tailored guidance and prompt support response times? Then you can rely on us! We provide support both for the SDL Trados products we market and for the software solutions we develop in-house, such as quickTerm, smartQuery, globalReview, and expertTools. In order to support the products from our other partners, we negotiate direct support and maintenance contracts on your behalf.
Interpreters for Your Events
Interpreters act as a bridge between languages and cultures whenever people from different linguistic regions come together and communicate verbally. We provide experienced and professional interpreters, both simultansous and consecutive, as well as the required technical interpreting equipment for all kinds of events, from press conferences to conventions and everything in between.
